As expected, the Safari View Controller has been enhanced to offer Action Extension support for third-party apps. Additionally iOS 9.2 also supports AT&T NumberSync Wi-Fi calling service, adds Arabic support to Siri, 3D Touch Peek and Pop support in iBooks app and much more. Apple has also packed in an update to the hardware front as well, where the new and improved Lightning to SD Card Reader is now supported on all iOS 9.2 compatible devices.

iOS 9.2 includes several bug fixes and enhancements related to Safari View Controller, the new Safari window that opens up when you click on a link in some apps. Third-party Action Extensions will now work with the Safari View Controller, and you will also be able to dismiss it using an edge swipe. It also allows users to reload a web page without Content Blockers and Request Desktop site by long tapping on the Reload button in Safari View Controller, as it does in Safari.
It also includes support for NumberSync feature to AT&T customers, which allows other devices like Mac or iPad to make and receive calls using a customer’s iPhone number without being connected to the iPhone.
Here are the devices iOS 9.2 is compatible with:
  • iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4S

Download firmware iOS 9.1 Final Links For iPhone, iPad, iPod touch [Direct links]

Final version of iOS 9.1 IPSW download links are out. Apple has just started rolling out iOS 9.1 for supported iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices with new emojis and improved Live Photos feature, among other things.
The maiden version of Apple’s latest iteration of iOS, version 9, was introduced to the public back in September, one week after the September 9 iPhone-centric media event. As part of that release cycle Apple had already started putting things in place with iOS 9.1, and had started seeding builds of the first major point release to registered developers before iOS 9.0 had even gone public. After more than a month of testing, which included five beta builds in total, and two other public releases in iOS 9.0.1 and 9.0.2, the company has finally deemed iOS 9.1 ready to be downloaded and used on devices across the world.

As is usually the case for releases of this nature, today’s launch doesn’t contain a large amount of changes that would immediately be evident to the end-user. Individuals who like to communicate with a little more than just text within their favourite messaging apps will be delighted with the introduction of more than 150 new emoji characters. There’s new food-based entries such as a taco, burrito, and a cheese wedge. There’s also a very not-so polite middle finger emoji and rather delightful pink and white unicorn head. As part of that new emoji integration, iOS 9.1 also includes support for unicode 7 and 8. You can check out the new iOS 9.1 emojis in detail in the video below:
There’s also an update for Live Photos, a feature that was added in iOS 9 for those who have an iPhone 6s or 6s Plus. The feature now senses when the device is raised or lowered as part of an efficiency push that will prevent the camera and the feature from recording anything that’s unnecessary and that would waste resources on the device. The native Messages app has also gained support for those who want to either enable or disable the conversation list from displaying a profile picture that’s linked against the contact.
iOS 9.1 also officially brings Apple News app to the UK.
As always, if you’re jailbroken and want to remain in that state, don’t update to iOS 9.1 yet. iOS 9.1 is available as an Over-The-Air (OTA) update from Settings > General > Software Update.

For those of you who prefer clean installing, here are the direct download links for iOS 9.1 that you can restore to from iTunes. And yes, the links for iPad Pro are also included.

Download firmware iOS 9.0.2 Final Links For iPhone, iPad, iPod touch [Direct links]

This is just in. Apple has just released iOS 9.0.2 download links for compatible iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices.
The release sees the latest public version of iOS ramped up to 9.0.2, introducing a number of bug fixes and bringing various performance enhancements throughout the platform. Today’s release also shows Apple’s continued commitment to offering the best possible iOS experience to its mobile customers, coming only a week after the public launch of iOS 9.0.1.

The official change log that accompanies the latest iOS software update is as follows:
This update contains bug fixes and improvements, including
Fixes an issue with the setting to turn on or off app mobile data usage.
Resolves an issue that prevented iMessage activation for some users.
Resolves an issue where an iCloud Backup could be interrupted after starting a manual backup.
Fixes an issue where the screen could incorrectly rotate when receiving notifications.
Improves the stability of Podcasts.
As you can see, Apple has chosen to focus on stability and bringing as many fixes and improvements as possible with these minor point updates. This type of release schedule is historically the norm whenever a new major version of iOS drops. There’s always going to be a bedding in period that sees a number of point updates introduced in a relatively short space of time.
Anyone with a compatible device capable of running iOS 9 can also start to look forward to the official introduction of iOS 9.1. Whilst these minor point updates focus on improving and stabilizing what was released with iOS 9.0, iOS 9.1 will introduce a number of new small features, such as the new set of emojis. But we’ll bring you more about that as and when the time comes.
For now, those with a compatible iPhone, iPad, iPod touch can launch the native Settings app and go directly to General > Software Update to download and install iOS 9.0.2. The update should be showing up immediately.

Download firmware iOS 9.0.1 Final Links For iPhone, iPad, iPod touch [Direct links]

Only a week after iOS 9.0, Apple today has released final iOS 9.0.1 IPSW download links for supported iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices.
So, just what does iOS 9.0.1 offer to all of those opting to download it? First and foremost, the release introduces a fix for a bug that a large amount of users had been experiencing with the iOS setup assistant after upgrading to iOS 9. The aforementioned bug causes a fair bit of frustration by getting users stuck in a position where they could never actually successfully complete the setup process, instead getting stuck on a “Slide to Upgrade” screen. Apple’s interim fix for this issue was to restore via iTunes from a backup.

iOS 9.0.1 also brings with it a number of other bug fixes for issues that have been reported to Apple. An issue whereby alarms and timers could fail to execute has been addressed and resolved. There’s also a visual fix for Mobile Safari and the Photos app that addresses an issue that users were experiencing when pausing a video. Pausing a playing video would occasionally appear to show the paused frame as being distorted. This has now been rectified.
The final issue that’s been addressed as part of the official change log that accompanies the iOS 9.0.1 update pertains to a custom VPN setup. Specific users who were opting to use a custom VPN setup via a profile were experiencing issues with the loss of mobile data. The latest version of iOS addresses and fixes that issue for all of those who had been experiencing it.
As always, the latest version of iOS is available as an over-the-air download via the Software Update mechanism in the native Settings app (Settings -> General -> Software Update).

Alternatively, if you want to clean install, you can do so using iTunes and the firmware file tailored for your iOS device, which you can grab from here.

Download firmware iOS 9.0 Final Links For iPhone, iPad, iPod touch [Direct links]

The final iOS 9 download links for iPhone 6 Plus, 6, 5s, 5c, 5, 4s, iPad 2 and over and iPod touch are now live. For a list of features on what’s new in iOS 9, check out our post here.
This guide will help you download and install final version of iOS 9 on your supported device. Apple’s iOS 9 supports same devices as iOS 8: iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4s, iPad Air 2, iPad Air 1, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 1, iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad 2, iPod touch 6 and iPod touch 5. The newly announced iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6s, iPad mini 4 and iPad Pro are also supported. For more on which devices are supported, check out our iOS 9 compatibility post here.

How to download and install iOS 9 final version:
Before installing the final version of iOS 9, it’s highly recommended to make a complete backup of your device to either iCloud or using iTunes to your computer. We have separate detailed guide on how to make the backup and prepare your device for iOS 9 that you can check out here. Once you are done with making backup using the instructions provided at that link, follow the instructions below to install iOS 9 on your device.
Clean Install:
This is the recommended way of installing any major version of iOS. Here’s how to go about about this on your device.
Step 1: Download and install latest version of iTunes from here.
Step 2: Grab the iOS 9 download link tailored for your iOS device from here: iOS 9 Download Links For iPhone, iPad, iPod touch [IPSW Links].
Step 3: Turn off Find My iPhone on your device by navigating to Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone toggle it to off.

Step 4: Now connect your device to the computer and launch iTunes.
Step 5: From the left sidebar panel, select your iOS device from Summary tab under Settings.

Step 6: Now if you are on a Mac, hold the Alt key or if you are on Windows PC, hold the Shift key, and then click on the Restore iPhone… button as shown in the screenshot below.

Step 7: iTunes will now prompt you to select the .IPSW file you downloaded in the Step 2 above. Select it.

That’s it. Now sit back and relax as iTunes installs final version of iOS 9 on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Be patient as this could take some time. Once it is installed, your device will boot directly into Hello screen of iOS 9.
OTA Update Install:
The easier way to install the iOS 9 update is to get it via the built-in OTA update mechanism in iOS. While it is easy, it is not recommended for major iOS releases such as version 9.0 as they tend to cause performance related issues. But if that sort of thing doesn’t bother you, you can give this method a go.

Make sure you backup everything as explained earlier just in case anything goes wrong. Also make sure your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch has at least 1.3GB of free space and is charged well over 50%. Once you have all of that sorted, simply head to Settings > General > Software Update and update from there.

Download firmware iOS 8.4.1 Final Links For iPhone, iPad, iPod touch [Direct links]

Apple just released final version of iOS 8.4.1 download links for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users. This release comes almost a month after iOS 8.4 was released with support for Apple Music in late June.
iOS 8.4.1 will likely be the last release of iOS 8. With iOS 9 in beta since early June, it is expected to launch alongside new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus at an event next month in September.

While there is no 100% confirmation yet, rumor has it that Apple has patched exploits used by TaiG to jailbreak iOS 8.4, and iOS 8.1.3, 8.2 and 8.3 before it. If you’re a jailbreaker and care about all the tweaks you have installed, DO NOT update to iOS 8.4.1 until there is any confirmation on jailbreak front. We’ll obviously post here as soon as we get to know more about it.
Those of you who don’t care about jailbreaking, you can simply update over-the-air to the latest version by heading to Settings > General > Software Update.

Here’s the full official changelog of iOS 8.4.1:

Alternatively, you can also update using iTunes by downloading the IPSW file for your device from the links given below. You may also need the IPSW file if you’re planning to do a clean restore of iOS on your device.

Download firmware iOS 8.4 Final Links For iPhone, iPad, iPod touch [Direct links]

iOS 8.4 download links have just gone live for supported iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. Full changelog along with instructions on how to download iOS 8.4 is detailed below.
Each new installment of iOS 8.x has brought with it a healthy fleet of changes and improvements. With iOS 8.3, it was a swathe of security and performance fixes, and while iOS 8.4 has its fair share of bug fixes and general tweaks, the main attraction is the all-new Music app with Apple Music support.

Announced at WWDC, Apple Music is a subscription based music streaming service which lets you stream from a catalogue of 30 million songs for $9.99 a month or $14.99 for family plan which you can share with up to six people. A free trial is available which lets you try the service free for 3-months. More details on Apple Music can be found here.
Apple Music is baked right into the brand new Music app which is part of today’s release. It also includes an “always on” free 24/7 radio station called Beats 1 as well as a unique social media-esque platform that allows consumers to connect with artists and content creators in a manner that we haven’t previously seen from a streaming service.
Apart from that, the update is filled with a bunch of security and bug fixes – including the infamous iPhone Messages crashing bug fix, along with general improvements.
You can head over to Settings > General > Software Update to grab the iOS 8.4 OTA, or you can download the IPSW files from the links which we have embedded below.
iOS 8.4 is compatible with the following iOS devices:
  • iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus
  • iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3, iPad 2, iPad (third-generation), iPad (fourth-generation), iPad Air, iPad mini, iPad mini with Retina display

Download firmware iOS 8.3 Final Links For iPhone, iPad, iPod touch [Direct links]

Download Links Of iOS 8.3 final version for iPhone and iPad are out. Full changelog along with other information is detailed below.
It was strongly suspected that OS X 10.10.3 download would arrive with a new Photos app today – and it did – but what we didn’t necessarily foresee was the final release of iOS 8.3. However, after a number of betas, the update is finally ready for the masses, and along with an assortment of new features, Apple has thrown in a boatload of bug fixes and performance enhancements.

The emoji system has been expanded upon, as was indicated through the betas, and there are now 300 new icons to help further the conversation. Notably, the people emoji range has been diversified, and if you’re a constant user of these minuscule images, then you’ll love the latest software update.
iOS 8.2 was laden with bugs, and as such, iOS 8.3 is all about repairing the damage. The full changelog, which can be seen below, offers a complete look at what’s been amended, but it’s good to see that both Wi-Fi and Safari have been given some attention. iOS 8.2 also prompted a spate of battery-related quibbles when it launched, and there doesn’t appear to be any mention of a remedy here, but with so many tweaks and adjustments, we’d expect a better level of battery retention with iOS 8.3.

Siri now supports a variety of new languages, including Danish, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish and Thai. The voice assistant has grown considerably in stature and general importance to the iOS ecosystem in recent times what with the upcoming Apple Watch launch, and as well as the increased language support, Siri can also begin calls on speakerphone if you reel off the command.
If you’re not a great user of emoji or Siri, then you’re not going to see a lot feature-wise, but the general smoothness and ease-of-operation should pick up thanks to the sheer volume of bug fixes.
Since this is hot off the press, we haven’t had a proper chance to check it out as yet, but if we spot anything interesting in getting acquainted with iOS 8.3, we’ll be sure to follow this report up with the details.
You can download iOS 8.3 OTA via the Software Update feature on your iOS device in Settings > General. You can also update or start fresh by restoring your device to 8.3 using direct download links given below. As ever, it’s free of charge, and compatible with all iPhones, iPads and iPod touches that run iOS 8.
